Saviola doesn't have the height nor the physique to play in the EPL. IMO he hasn't done enough to warrant an interest from top EPL clubs.

@ faizulazlan, Valencia wil have very big boots to fill and expectations to meet. I just hope the manager, the club and the fans give him enough time to gel and show what he is worth. We have seen the likes of Nani and Anderson shine briefly before slipping into oblivion.

@ qspn, well-said. Saviola is past his best to be honest. Back in his days at Barca, he was feared and was a consistent goal poacher. Now, no more than a bit player. In fact, 4 goals in 17 appearances for Real Madrid is astonishing for the player of his calibre. Coupled that with a bad temperament, bad all around. Nono

u r rite bro snr member & also mod 4 err... another site...

it's just that throughout english football history,

no club has won the title 4 times in a row...

including the mighty lpool during the 70's & 80's...

so if we were 2 retain our title, it will b another piece of history 4 us...

BPL enough la 4 me... UCL is gonna b very very hard 2 win again...

I think mega players dont want to go to any BPL clubs (except Man City). Certain people are getting tired of the English dominance in football maybe?

Lyons deny they have sold Benzema

Lyons have denied they are on the brink of selling Karim Benzema to Real Madrid but say they have received a large offer for the forward, who is a Manchester United target. Reports in the Spanish media today claimed that a move to the Bernabeu for the 21-year-old forward was virtually a done deal and that Lyons had accepted an increased offer of €35 million (around £30m). However, the French club's director of communications said that they have not concluded a deal with anyone. “We certainly did receive an offer of a sum appreciably superior to the sum that has been mentioned, but nothing says that it comes from Real,” Olivier Blanc told L’Equipe. “There is no agreement with anyone.”

That's yesterday's news. Lyon had made an official announcement on their official website today that Benzema is going to RM.

sorry mu fans, its official. he's gone to Real.

Quote :

http://www.olweb.fr/fr/Accueil/100007/Article/50470/Transfert-de-Karim-Benzema-au-Real-Madrid

my poxy translation of the 1st para:
OL announces that an accord has been reached with Real Madrid on the details of the transfer of Karim BENZEMA for the amount of € 35 mil, rising to a maximum of €41 mil depending on performances.

As much as i want him to come to MU, i cant deny the fact that he has gone to RM, and can't be in denial about it. When i read in Soccernet, i double-checked by going to Lyon's official website before stating it here.

i think one of the reason is the higher tax in UK compared to spain or italy.

i read somewhere that it's up to 50% Dizzy

can you imagine, half of your monthly salary are paid for tax ?

I don't think Benzema would wear the number 7 shirt at United if he does join. If I'm not mistaken he wear number 9 for Lyon.

Anyway beside the tax reason, he choose to join Real is because the mega project in place. Moreover Zidane is the head scout for Real now that is another factor why Benzema choose Real over United

It seem Perez has not learned his lesson from the Galacticos period last time he was president. He won very little then and I am not so sure with so many individuals that it is gonna be so different this time.

Seems now the choice is Villa or Ribery but hopefully not Ribery in my opinion.

However there is a difference this time as he bought a central defender in Raul Abiol. Arbeloa could also be on his way to Real to prove a point at Spain
