i don't think United are willing to pay 32million for a player who will start on the bench if both berba and roo are fit.. for me both wellbeck and campbell are good enuff already to be on the bench.. and to make it worst, Madrid are preparing a huge offer for tevez this summer.. will he stay..? Only god knows.. huhu..

No wonder he's not given the no.7 since the no.7 has always bring bad luck for those who wore it at chelsea.. still remember Adrian mutu, Maniche and recently shevchenko..? huhuhu..

actually, Chelsea had a few duds with the no 7 shirt, incl Sheva, Maniche, Deschamps, Mutu, Bogarde, etc to name a few.

to add to the new numbers obtained for new signings, don't forget Nolan has the no 4 at Newcastle.

Quaresma can't settle down in Spain and Italy... so probably England is where he should be.. if the same thing still happen to him so i really think he should consider midle east club.. huhuhu..

Practically this would represent his last chance to play for a top club as he failed previously with Barca and now with Inter. Not sure whether he has the temperament to play in the English game as times he can be a genius while the same time he can be frustrating.

If the likes of CRon, Walcott, Young can stand up against the tough defenders I'm don't see why we shouldn't give Quaresma a chance to prove himself?

i beg to differ about the standing up thingy..each time Ronaldo meets defenders, he will end up sitting on the ground, rolling his socks Laughing Laughing

Haha, Pyro Pryo. If you take those highlighted words at face value, of course I couldn't disagree with you at all. Anyway, what I wanted to say is speedy wingers could definitely make a living in EPL given the right circumstances.

if he fails at EPL, what can he do is go back to portugal or playing for middle club in the big leagues... he was a good player at sporting & porto, while he was maybe too young when he played for barca...

one thing i noticed abt quaresma, he could only perform well when he was the center attention for the team @ he is the team's biggest star.... maybe it was the reason he failed in those big clubs before....

Quaresma was pretty decent today. Not too bad for a debut. The liveliest player today in the Chelsea squad.

I think Jo won a fluke penalty though. There's something about the way his body falls forward that reminds me of how I used to do 'lompat tinggi' in school. Very unnatural way of falling.

Anyway, yes I agree that Quaresma was pretty decent in his debut. After he was taken off (why was he taken off anyway????) Chelsea became more monotonous, and played too much in the middle.

Yup Quaresma was indeed the spark in Chelsea's midfield, but a pity when he was substituted late in the 2nd half. Maybe not that match fit I guess, even though he did play in Inter's game v Torino prior to his arrival @ SB.

Yes! i rate Mancienne as a good player.. i have been watching him playing for England Under-21 for a while now and he is that good.. while the 1st time i watched Stoch was back in STOKE game.. he came in and change the game for chelsea.. i hope hiddink will give both of the this two talented young lads more opportunity in 1st team action.. hukhuk..

Chelsea plan summer clear-out
Tue, 03 Mar 10:12:00 2009

Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck has warned there will be big changes at the club next season.

Buck has revealed as many as up to five players could leave with five new faces possibly coming in.

The Blues supremo insists money will be made available by Roman Abramovich in the summer for the right player even though they would prefer to raise money for signings by offloading some stars.

"We haven't properly got together to talk about summer transfers yet, but I think that we could expect that several players will leave and that several players will come in," Buck said.

"I don't know whether that is three, four or five, but something in that kind of neighbourhood, so we can expect a handful to leave.

"We'd like to use internally generated cash to buy new players - and by that I mean sell players and buy new players.

"But of course if an appropriate player comes then money would be made available from the owner to buy him.

Chelsea caretaker boss Guus Hiddink is willing to offer his advice on potential signings even though he insists he will not remain at Stamford Bridge beyond the end of the season

"I'm not involved in those strategic discussions, but if I can be of any help, I'm not saying no," said Hiddink.

"I have been here now and have these relations, but I'm not here to have discussions as to which way to go."

p/s : so who do U think the most to be shown the exit door this summer..? my pick will surely be Florent Malouda.. huhu..

Haha yea this was picked up in LYN's Chelsea thread as well, and a lot of speculation flying around! My pick was Malouda, Kalou, Deco, Belletti and Ferreira IINM, but I'd think Malouda would def be on every Chelsea fans list! Smile

The problem is that the players picked to leave will have to generate sufficent cash to buy replacements. Players like Ferreira, Belletti, Kalou are not going to generate big enough funds to target the top players they are likely to want. Even Deco because of his age and relatively poor season will have lost value on what they paid for him. I think it is pretty certain that Drogba will be one of the ones to leave and there could also be a couple of surprise exits that are going to bring in big money.

Vidic & Jonny Evans On Milan Shortlist Report

Italian giants Milan are preparing an offer in the region of 22.2 million (20m) for Manchester United centre-back Nemanja Vidic, according to a report in British newspaper The Daily Mail.

It is claimed that the 27-year-old Serbia international has already held talks with il Diavolo and an agent about a potential transfer at the end of the season. This news breaks just days before the Red Devils' Champions League last 16 second leg tie against Inter on February 24.

Meanwhile, it is also alleged that the Rossoneri have identified fellow United defender Jonny Evans as another possible recruit for the summer.

Apparently, the Serie A outfit are prepared to bid around 11.1m (10m) for the 21-year-old Northern Ireland international.

However, it is believed that Milan may face competition for the 6ft 2in centre-back's signature because Spanish giants Real Madrid are also rumoured to be interested in acquiring his services.

Despite the speculation, it is unlikely that Manchester United would sell the duo given they are two of the most highly-rated defenders in Europe at present.
