I don't think that Torres will celebrate if he does find the back of the net on his return to the Vicente Cauldron. A player of his class knows how to respect the fans have been supportive through his time at the club. Moreover it is the return of the prodigal son. The reception and atmosphere would be great. Couldn't wait for the clash on the 22th Oct

I think the surprise package thus far is the Romanian minnows Cluj who won their first game and held Chelsea to a nil-all draw in the second. They played with alot of determination to make up for the lack in skills and star players but I think the most they'd make it to the 2nd round.
Don't forget Anorthosis Famagusta.
They beat Olympiacos in the 3rd qualy round and are 2nd in Group B on equal points with Inter having drawn away at Werder & beat Panathinaikos at home.

Their star player looks to be Savio, yes THAT Savio fomerly of Real Madrid.

I didnt notice Dellas. There's another "famous" player there Giannis Skopelitis, former Pompey man.

The 3rd goal in Anorthosis' win over Pana was scored by Hawar M @ Hawar Mulla Mohammed of Iraq, the current Asin Cup holders.

Very very tough opponents. Silver lining is, the path would be very much smoother after this round, if they can get through. I thought Chel v Juv was tough, but i think the highlights would be Inter v Man U and Real v Liverpool...

Wow Jose v SAF ...cool!

Liverpool are "lucky" to get a comparatively weaker and troubled RM side. Hope they have the luck this time around.

Chelsea v Juve is insteresting... i have a feeling juve might just lift it this year... to celebrate their comeback to the UCL in style after the disgrace of relegation etc...

Strange that nobody posted ever since December! Anyway;

Inter 0 Man U 0
Arsenal 1 Roma 0
Atl Madrid 2 FC Porto 2
Lyon 1 Barcelona 1

Coming up tomorrow morning (26th Feb)

Chelsea v Juventus
Real Madrid v Liverpool
Sporting Lisbon v Bayern Munich
Villareal v Panathinaikos

Man U may have to score outright in their game v Inter, as I do think Inter does have the capacity to score an away goal in OT. Roma looks more than capable of scoring 2 or more past the Gunners in Rome, while Barca and FC Porto looks poised to enter the next round already.

Actually IMO..Villareal was very lucky to come away with the draw as I thought the Panathinaikos player was pushed by a Villareal player and he fell down n fouled the running Pires..but Karagounis goal was a beauty..

Bayern proved to be too strong for Sporting as Ribery led the thrashing..

I can't see Liv conceding any goal at home in the 2nd leg..

Che Juve will be the game to watch for the 2nd leg..
