great buy there bro, you bought it from the Liverpool megastore itself or is there any other stores able to sell them...? btw they are limited to how many...?

it seems that all this limited box series comes from the same manufacturer so i guess the FA is getting a cut from all this sales...

My box edition was ordered from the online clubstore together with other local LFC fans' ordered items who shared the postage.
To me, the retail price of the boxed edition alone is GBP89.99 but I pay no more than GBP95 eventually to get hold of it (spreading over of the postage costs).

This time they are limited to 5000 pieces.

Of course a normal replica kit. It's pointless to use a formotion player shirt for a fans commemorative merchandise.

The Carlsberg sponsor is smaller because they are still the commercial version. Commercial stuff are not made identical to the match worn ones, even the Carlsberg sponsor this time is 100% official and comes with the shirt.

Ah I see... since the formotion ones are still available easily at the public..

But a good move by adidas to ensure that although the kits are FORMOTION ones, they still are not 100% as the player issued ones.. or else many irresponsible ebay sellers can easily claim that they are selling match worn kits.. but then again there are the sponsorless ones..

Great collection mate. Thanks for sharing your passion with us.

I believe only by Adidas HK. They have released Liverpool H/A both sponsored and unsponsored and Chelsea H for this season. There were plans for Real Madrid H release but I am told it has been cancelled.

Can't wait for them to arrive here.
I wish adidas Malaysia can be like adidas HK.
Releasing all those formotion shirts for the fans to buy, and non-sponsored too.
How nice of them.
Michael, buy some and sell to us here please...

Hong Kong is the hub for all jersey distributions.. I believe the same case as well for adidas but for sure it is true for nike..

1985 was also the same year Liverpool did the League + FA Cup Double.

Hopefully they will release a retro re-production of the yellow kit with the commemorative embroidery around the Adidas Trefoil.

Very Happy

PostSubject: Re: Additions to the Liverpool Shirts Museum   Tue Apr 14, 2009 1:44 am

Well, strictly speaking this is NOT a Liverpool shirt. This is a shirt of the team known as " Association Football Club Liverpool", not Liverpool Football Club .

This is a semi-professional club founded in 2008, playing in the North West Counties League Division One.

So why I am buying this shirt? Actually the AFC Liverpool has her own commercial sponsorship for her shirts, but in order to commemorative the 20th anniversary of the Hillsborough Disaster, the club especially adopted the special Justice for the 96 sponsor from January 2009 onwards till the end of the season.

Quote :

AFC Liverpool shirts honour the Hillsborough 96

Jan 21 2009 by Dan Kay, Liverpool Echo

AFC LIVERPOOL are to wear special commemorative shirts to mark the 20th anniversary of the Hillsborough tragedy.

The Vodkat Division One league leaders had to obtain special dispension from the league due to strict shirt sponsorship guidelines.

The red shirt with 96 in the middle accompanied by two eternal flames and the date of the disaster will be worn for the rest of the season.

AFC Liverpool chairman Paul McCombs said: "This is an incredibly proud moment in the short history of AFC Liverpool, as we enter the 20th anniversary year of the Hillsborough disaster.

”We wanted to do this to illustrate our support, unity and grief with the victims of Hillsborough and those who continue to campaign for justice on their behalf."

This shirt is being sold at their official online clubstore and thus I bought one to express my greivance towards the LFC fans who lost their precious life almost 20 years ago. Remember, this Wednesday will be the 20th anniversary.

Hopefully those kind of things will never happen again.
LFC can follow suit and come up with similar shirts like AFC Liverpool did.
That would be very nice...

LIVERPOOL LEGENDS VS JAMAICA LEGENGS 2002 PLAYER SHIRT

In August 2002, Liverpool Legends team went to Jamaica to play against the Jamaica Legends team in a charity match. Certainly we should know that the relatedness between Jamaica F.A. and Liverpool is built on Liverpool Legend John Barnes, a Jamaica born England National team footballer. John Barnes even becomes the Jamaica National Team manager in year 2008.

For the shirt itself, I don't think it's available to the public as replicas. It's a special brand known as "CALVO". On one sleeve as well as the chest we see the ink-print-through-fabric sponsor "WRAY & NEPHEW". Wray & Nephew is a brand name for white rum wine, a produce of Jamaica.

The design of the shirt is based on the prevailing 1970s Liverpool home shirt. It has a golden thread stitched Liverbird, together with the embroidered words "LIVERPOOL LEGENDS JAMAICA 2002" beneath it.

The match details are as follows:-

Soory curator, I have something to show about the Hillsborough 96 history in your thread.
I have an article from Scotland newspaper regarding above, but I haven't read it to the end yet. Maybe JCs here want to know more about it.
Sorry for the blurry images.
